Netgear N300 Wireless Router WNR2000 v3

August 10th, 2015

A little Netgear router that I use as an access point whenever dragging a computer without wifi to the opposite side of the apartment doesn’t make sense.

The WNR2000 is a fairly tiny single-board system, with a 400MHz MIPS processor and 32MB of RAM. It’s powered with a typical 12V DC power brick with a barrel connector. It supports 802.11b/g/n connections. You can install DD-WRT on it — if you are very patient and willing to do a lot of finagling.

The disassembly is actually fairly boring, so I threw in some macro photography for you all. ♥

(BONUS: In which we break our network by connecting a router to itself.)
